This weekend was General Conference.
Our little family enjoyed spending the days
on the couch
in front of the TV,
eating, listening, and resting.
We were fed.
Fed good food...
We Mormons love our jello.
We Mormons love our jello fluff even more.
I recommend Raspberry Jello
with crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges.
If that doesn't have you salivating,
we also made Bobby's Ricotta Pancakes, Chipotle's guacamole,
cream cheese crab dip, Eggs Florentine Casserole & pumpkin chocolate chip bread.
I told you we were fed.
We fed the kids candy as a reward for
completing their "listen and find" conference game...
Preston let me sleep in on Sunday morning,
so I let him sleep during the Sunday morning session (nice pose, babe!).
We were fed so much that Stella's cheeks grew...
And, at our measurement party James grew
1.5 inches & 1.5 pounds (& gained some marker tattoos)
in 6 months.
The more important type of feeding we had
was being spiritually fed.
My favorite message was....
"We would do well to slow down a little.
Proceed at the optimum speed for our circumstances.
Focus on the significant.
Lift up our eyes and truly see the things that matter most."
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf
I've never been on to know how to slow down,
but I'm starting today...
slowing down on how many calories I will consume
after all that I ate over the weekend.
