a great reminder

Remember how I yelled at my 4 year old this morning for not listening to me?

Remember how I begged my 2 year old to sleep a little longer so I could get a few more things done?

Remember how I get frustrated when I get asked to play cars, trains or dinosaurs 50 times a day?

Remember how annoying it can be to not have any adult interaction all day long?

I have had my fair share of complaining about my current state of mommyhood lately.
Some days I feel like a single parent.
Some days I wonder how I will survive another day with 2 crazy boys to take care of.

Well, I heard Bronson's story on the news the other night and then a friend linked me to his mom's blog. I read it today and bawled my eyes out. I love her honesty. She left her 17 month old in the tub and was sidetracked by a few chores around the house and he drowned. You can read the full story here (grab some Kleenex). And then you can see the miracle of it all here.

I loved what she wrote on her blog just after the tragedy...

For now, please hug your babies a little tighter...
Give your children a little extra squeeze...
Be a little more patient and diligent
and a little less distracted by the things that will wait until later.
Embrace the things that matter most!

What a great reminder! Now that I've cried away all of my makeup and my 2 year old is just waking up from his nap, I'm off to play and enjoy
....and to be a little more patient and diligent.

I am blessed.

Oh, shute! It's so true how sidetracked we can get. I'm for sure giving caylee a big hug tomorrow morning. I'm sitting in the bathroom balling my eyes out! Thanks for sharing. This story made me rethink of my priorities.
