We had James' turtle-themed birthday "shell-a-bration" on Saturday. We picked turtles because James is still obsessed with his lovey, Zips the turtle, that he sleeps with every night. And, "durdle" was one of James' first words, and he lights up every time he sees one.
Preston made the cute turtle cupcakes...
I made the turtle-llini soup and fruit tray with dip...
We came up with a few games to fit the theme.
Pin the tail on the turtle...
The Turtle Pond...
Whatever number was on the bottom of the turtle they picked, they got the matching prize from the bowl...
I think the little ones had a great time, and James was able to blow out both of his candles all on his own (where did he learn this?)...
I think his wish came true....he finally got some toys that weren't hand-me-downs from his brother. Whenever Henry tries to play with James' birthday toys he says, "My Ball. My Car. My Scooter.". But then he shares anyway...
I think he's just satisfied knowing he has toys that are his very own.

that is sooo cute!! I used to have box turtles as pets when I was a little girl. They were one of my favorite. He is boy after my own heart. I still have a special place in my heart for turtles too. Happy Birthday, James!
