In honor of Memorial Day I am going to post a new picture everyday that brings back memories for me.
Let's start with this one...No, the memory isn't of me getting a real workout with my sweatbands on to lose a little baby fat (what in the world am I wearing?), but rather hanging out with my three older sisters. We didn't need a lot of friends because we had each other. It made vacations fun, home fun and everywhere in between fun. One of my favorite memories was when we lived in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Kansas City, Missouri. All 4 of us girls slept in one room with 2 twin beds. Each bed had Cabbage Patch sheets that we thought were the best, and that year for Christmas we all got our own Cabbage Patch dolls. I vividly remember running down the stairs and finding my little boy Cabbage Patch doll dressed in a salmon-colored suit that Santa had left for me and playing for years with "Jamie Cecil".
And just to prove that we all turned out okay as adults, despite our looks 20-some years ago, here's a more recent picture (even though it's a few years old itself)...It's much harder to get all 4 of us together these days....we're all over the map....New York, Kansas, and Utah. It sure is fun when we do get together though.
Thanks for the memories, sistas!
