...by the mirror with care.
But not for long. Preston is in the works making me a new shelf to go over my stairs. It's going to be my Christmas present, and I'm hoping it comes early (real early). As much as I love the mirror look I can't wait to use the stocking holders that have been packed away for years and not getting any yuletide use. It's a shame. Preston and I made Henry's stocking for his first Christmas, and I wish I had the money, time and energy to make us some cute ones too, but I don't. I've officially decided that I'm waiting to buy or make expensive, matchy, really cute stockings until after our family is complete. My analness just eats away at me when I think of having mismatched stockings from various decades. Something simple and personalized like this will do. So in the meantime Preston and I's stockings were a whopping $4.97 at the trashiest store on earth. Santa will still fill them, right?

I agree about the stocking thing. I want to buy new ones this year, but I feel I should wait. There are some darling ones at Crate and Barrel that I am ohhhing over though.
Jessie, you crack me up! I took one look at that picture (and I do think your stockings are cute, though don't get me wrong :) and thought to myself, "Jessie bought something at Walmart?? Has the world gone upside-down?" and then I saw your comment about the "trashiest" store. Hee hee!
So I was thinking you had a really great mantle in your basement above your fireplace, am I envisioning the wrong house?
Nope, Keely, you are right. It's just that our basement is only used for childbirth classes, and I just don't foresee enjoying their presence during that time. I want them to be where we are all of the time.
well, i don't know, santa might have to fill them with the trashiest stuff on earth, since you got them at the trashiest store on earth.
Jessie I got your christmas card today! Very cute. . .
I am the same way about stockings. I want Bridger to have a great stocking, but right now nothing will match ours. Oh well, something cheap will do for a couple of years! I'm glad I'm not the only crazy out there!
