HI-YA Henry

Henry couldn't wait to start the after-school karate program at his school.
He had been jealous last summer when James got to take karate lessons,
so now it was his turn.
Every Monday he went and learned some karate moves.

He loved everything about it,
except that he was really hoping he would get his own gee.

My favorite was the night before his final lesson he told me he was nervous
to break a board the next day because he heard it was hard to do.
But then he said, "It's easier if you yell HI-YA".

Here he is giving it his best hi-ya...

So now I always remember that tough things are easier when you give them a HI-YA first!
