6.5

Henry turned 6 and a half on Saturday.
Preston's family has always celebrated half birthdays, so we've attempted to remember them every year.
Henry is now at the age where he can remember himself, and his half birthday is just a few weeks after his little brother's birthday, so birthday business if fresh in his mind and he's ready to have his own turn!

I love interviewing them and seeing what they say...

FYI: When I asked him what his favorite show was, he originally said "Project Allstars with Mom"....he watched the runway part on Project Runway Allstars with me ONCE about a month ago, and still remembers it apparently. I made him make a second choice. :)

Lucky for him, his half birthday fell on a Saturday, so he got lots of attention from the whole family!
James gifted him with the Angry Bird plush he'd been eyeing at Costco, and they played with it for most of the day.

We went out to lunch to Cafe Rio, one of his (and everyone else's) favorites. He must get the Queso every time.
The afternoon was spent on helping Dad with home projects,
then we got the Fiesta Pack from Del Taco (another one of his favorites-hard shelled tacos) and made homemade Nutella Ice Cream in the ice cream maker.....man, that was amazing!

Here's the recipe, for you ice cream lovers...
NUTELLA ICE CREAM
1 1/8 C Nutella
3/4 C sugar
1 1/4 C milk
2 C cream or 1/2 and 1/2
1 1/2 t vanilla
1 C peanut butter chips (optional)

Mix Nutella and sugar until smooth. Add milk and mix on low for 1-2 minutes. Stir in cream and vanilla. Pour into ice cream maker. Mix until thickened 25-30 minutes. Add peanut butter chips 5 minutes before mixing is completed. INDULGE!

I think he was a happy half-birthday-er!
We sure celebrated and he sure lived it up!
They'll be no forgetting of half-birthdays in the near future!
