training without wheels

Since we got back from vacation and saw lots of little ones on bikes without training wheels
Preston is determined to get Henry to ride his bike sans the trainers.
Every night after dinner they go out on the sidewalk for a short training program.
James has to take a turn too...
Last night was the usual.

Preston gave Henry support as he pedaled the course...
This little boy watched on...
...until he got the great idea to remove the helmet on his head
and chuck it at his brother on the bike...
...can you see his follow through? He's got skill!

Henry faultered for a moment,
laughed hysterically
and got back on course
(all with his dad's help, of course!)...

I'm convinced that if he can learn to ride his bike while dodging objects now,
he'll have the basic bike riding down shortly.

two tips (after training m & l )
*church parking lot - they learn quicker when they aren't worried about sidewalk boundaries
*they never learn until they learn to push off and get their feet on the pedals, which they basically have to learn to do on their own.

good luck henry, we're rooting for you!

Sure those are some cute kids, but YOUR VIEW! I'm not sure I've never seen the mountains outside your house. I had no idea they were so close. Very jealous....
