It's the American way...

The fourth of July is a favorite around here.
It's traditional, it's simple, it's fun and it's patriotic.
Just like us....at least we like to think so.

When the 4th falls on a Sunday here in Utah, we get to celebrate all weekend long.
There are parades and fireworks on both Saturday and Monday.
This leads to a 3 day celebration full of BBQ's, fireworks, ice cream, parades, family, friends and enjoying the amazing weather.

We had our 2nd annual Sill's Cafe breakfast with the Ayalas. Did you know that Sill's Cafe was listed as The Food Network's best place for breakfast in Utah?
I went with a scone with honey butter, of course.

The fun continued at the Kaysville Parade.
Fun for the kids. Boring for the adults.
The parade consisted of police cars, walking advertisements and candy (thus the fun for kids).
It was long and hot, but what is the 4th of July without a lil sweat and a parade?
We told the kids that they would get more candy if they waved and danced.
They sure knew how to work it!
Our Liberty Belle enjoyed the parade from her stroller
(mostly sleeping, so this picture was taken once we got home and she was well rested)...
Our Saturday festivities ended with macaroni and cheese (an all-american meal) at Noodles and Company and firework watching in our PJ's.

More celebrating to come...

I saw that cafe in my FN Magazine and thought of you - looks yummy! The best pick for Kansas is in Manhattan!

You were at the Kaysville parade!!! So were we- my mom lives in Kaysville and it has been tradition for years. Of course, we mostly just go for the water parade after. Too bad we didn't see you.

Oh, and Sills is wonderful!
