From Diapers to Diploma...

My nephew, Mason, graduated this past weekend. We made the 1,000 mile journey in our minivan of 5 to Manhattan, Kansas, and arrived just in time to celebrate with the family.

I still can't believe how old he's gotten. I remember my mom letting me stay home from 7th grade the day my sister went into labor with him. I remember going to the hospital to see him for the first time. I remember him waddling around our house with a diaper bum. I remember babysitting him...he always wanted to watch Barney & sing & dance along. And, I remember my sisters and I screaming in his face because we thought it was funny & cute when he'd stick out his bottom lip and cry (how rude!).

Now he's all big, grown up, graduated and saving all of his money for a motorcycle.
I guess 12 years worth of school didn't teach him that motorcycles aren't safe.
We can only hope it taught him some responsibility while driving one.

Wear your helmet, Mason! Congrats! We love you!

We figured out that starting in 2020 my parents will have a grandchild graduate every year for 8 years. They each have their own year to celebrate, and hopefully we can all get together then too!

We are loving Kansas! My boys can't get enough of their grandparents (who regrettably left yesterday), their cousins (whom they play ALL day with), and of the warm weather to play in (minus the humidity). Preston flew back to Utah yesterday...he left 90 degrees and humid in Kansas to 35 degrees and snowing in Utah. Crazy!

Off to enjoy the next few weeks in Oz...
