Henry interrupted my blow drying this morning with "James just fell down the stairs. There is blood everywhere".
I ran quickly.
There was blood EVERYWHERE....the carpet, the tile, down the stairs...pools of it.
No crying to be heard. No James to be found.
I finally find James behind the couch playing with a car. PLAYING.
No tears.
I grabbed James and then my camera and took a picture.
I sopped up the blood with a towel.
He has a puncture wound on his head. It bled and bled and bled.
He never cried. I asked him if he had an owie, and he said yes and pointed to his toe.
He's just fine.
My carpet isn't so fine.
It matches perfectly now with my Sharpie-decorated couch and Red Velvet Cake smeared carpet.
An afterthought...isn't it funny that with your first child you would have immediately dialed 911 if you saw this and with your second you grab the camera instead?

Even after you told me the story I wasn't expecting THIS MUCH BLOOD!!!! THAT IS CRAZY! If only my girls were 1/8th as tough as James! They will probably cry just looking at this picture!
this reminds me of the movie "carrie", thats pretty bad.
Oh my goodness, I can't believe he was just sitting there, playing! Sorry about your carpet, though...that sucks big time.
What a tough guy James is! Sorry to hear about your carpet:(.
HE is soooo preston if he can get hurt and not know it!!
Oh.my.gosh.
You're so right about first time moms.. there's no way I could have seen all that blood and not either A. passed out or B. made a trip to the ER. Poor James!
Holy Crap! That is horrifying! I think it could've been my 12th child and I still would've called 911 after seeing that much blood. So freaky! I'm glad he's okay and I'm glad you were calm enough to get a picture.
Whoa. That's...a lot of blood. I, too, immediately thought of the movie 'Carrie'. Just amazing that it didn't really slow him down or freak him out. What a trooper!!
Holy smokes! I would have not kept my cool... And I'm used to seeing blood!!
Oh my goodness!!!! I can't BELIEVE that everyone including James kept it together, even if he wasn't really hurt, if mine saw that much blood, he'd start bawling for sure!!! Poor thing. Glad he's un-phased, and SUPER sorry about the carpet!!!
