new year, new you

We got together as Ponds on New Year's Eve out at the Peck's house. Grandpa and Grandma have a new calling to work at the temple starting on Saturday so Grandpa had to shave off his moustache. This was a BIG deal because that moustache has been around for 15 years (as long as me in this family)!!! He had the grandkids gather around to watch. Here's the results...

What a change! He looks like a new man...a much younger one at that!....new year, new you!

Then, on New Year's Day the Pond clan journeyed to our house for brunch. Preston awoke early to shower and get things ready before our guests arrived. He emerged from our room claiming that his "dad's legend lives on". I took one look at him, cringed and demanded he shave. He decided to save it to show his dad and is promising to shave it soon (not soon enough).

It's a rare event to get all of the Pond siblings together.

It's even more rare to get a decent picture of them all together...

We were going to play a New Year's Game about resolutions so many of them submitted their resolutions to me beforehand. I took note of them here (and made one up for my hubby).

I do have to tell you that Travis had a Dr. Pepper in hand at my house, Nicholeen was 45 minutes late, Beauen...well, is Beauen, Preston has a trashy moustache still, and Janelle...well, she's always saving money. So I must give a pat on the back to Janelle for being the only Pond to make it a day with their New Year's Resolution.

Here's the documentation of the 14 grandchildren and their new cousin shirts. They each have resolved to wear their shirts at least twice a week for the rest of the year....and I bet they'll stick to it if they wear them anywhere near as much as they did last year. I know of one little one who was begging on day 3 to still wear his with ketchup and such splattered all over it.
