My little nephew celebrated a birthday over the weekend, so we headed over to Boondocks to let the kids have a little fun. They ate pizza, played rollerball (mini bowling), monkeyed around in the kids zone play area and spent some change on arcade games.
They were happy, of course.
...EXCEPT when they didn't "win".
Henry cried because he spent 3 of his 5 dollars trying to win a dinosaur in one of those stinkin' grabber games and failed to do so. He came thisclose but of course it dropped out of the grabber before the final deposit into the exit door.
James threw his body on the floor during rollerball because he didn't knock down all 10 pins. Dad had to give the boys a pep talk...the one about "You don't always win and get the prize. You just do your best and have fun.".
Will they ever learn?
But, all in all it was a fun night with family down by the Boondocks.
But wait, why in the world is the most commercial, inhabited, unnatural place in the world called "Boondocks"? I only know what "the boondocks" are by my country upbringing. I even confirmed it on dictionary.com.
Boondocks= a remote, uninhabited, rural area with thick natural vegetation.
Maybe I missed the backwoods portion of the fun center.
