We made our annual temple square lights visit on Christmas night. We love this tradition because no one is there and so you can park close, walk right through temple square, hear AND see the nativity story, and make it back to your car in a flash. That's my kind of visit when it's freezing cold!
James would just point and shriek, "MORE!". He's become infatuated with Christmas lights this year. He would always be yelling from the van when he saw them along the street. Too bad my bahumbug hubby won't hang them at our house. At least we have lots of festive neighbors and temple square, of course. I think he got his fill.
Henry was just happy to be by the temple and see the Angel Moroni while sipping hot cocoa.
In other temple news, my 2009 New Year's Resolution was to attend the temple at least 10 times, and I'm happy to admit that it was accomplished (thanks to the amazing Young Women in our ward that babysat the kids once a month for free!...Thank you!!!!). It won't be happening this year with a girth that won't fit into a dress and a suckling newborn, but I have other things in mind. Me and the scriptures will be getting (re)acquainted. I'm hoping that I can actually tell my children a story from the Book of Mormon or Bible by the end of the year without having to look it up, memorize it and feel really akward.
Will it happen?
I sure hope so.
The temple made me merry in 2009, and I'm counting on the scriptures brightening my 2010.
