Every General Conference we have made it a tradition to measure the boys and record it on their bathroom wall. Preston, my engineer, is very official in his measurements. The boys love standing up against the wall and find it really funny that Daddy writes on the wall. As you can see in James' measurements, James decided to copy Daddy and added a scribble. We thought it was too cute to erase.
One of my favorite quotes from Conference was by President Henry B. Eyring when he said, "The joys come from putting the welfare of others above our own. That is what love is. And the sorrow comes primarily from selfishness, which is the absence of love". I already know that I put my children's needs before my own. It's evident in the way I spend my time....wiping faces, cooking meals, playing trucks, visiting the park and the zoo, changing diapers and cleaning up too many messes to remember. I truly love doing all of these things for my babies, but I need to strive a little harder to reach out and help others around me. That is my goal. We'll shall see if I measure up.
