good nite lite

We were having troubles with our oldest son waking up at the wee, wee hours of the morning. I'm talking 4:45 am, 5:15 am, 6:00 am...just way too early for me to even function. He was waking up happy and ready to play, but his mom was waking up very mad and not ready to live any longer. I tried putting him to bed later, putting him to bed earlier, and putting him back to bed once he awoke, but he wasn't having any of it. I had seen on a blog that the Good Nite Lite made for a great behavior modification system, so I spent the 40 bucks and ordered it. A $40 nightlight, you say? Be crabby and get no sleep or spend $40, I say? I chose the $40 and haven't regretted it a bit.

I set the moon to shine at 7pm. This means it's time to get ready for bed. The kiddos usually hit the sack about 7:30 or 7:45pm.Henry usually barges into my room at 7:02 am demanding, "Come and look in my room, Mommy. I want to show you something yellow." We then walk to his room, check out the yellow sunshine for the bazillionth time and begin our day on a much happier note.

Thank you, Good Nite Lite! I love you.

Ummm, if your kids aren't supposed to get up until 7 a.m. what on earth were you doing up posting this blog at 6 a.m.?!?

Definitely worth the $40 dollars! I'd pay that much to not have to get up early.

that just may be the best $40 you ever spent.

No blogging at 6am, Jess. I just set it to post then. ;)

I totally agree, its worth the $40! I am NOT a morning person. Been a while- how are you? I have sucked at blogging or even checking blogs lately. Hope you are all doing well!

That's a fabulous idea! I'm glad it's working for you. Can you set it to turn yellow at 9:00am? Just curious...

Of course, Adria! You can set it to whatever time works for you.

man. I would love that thing. Except my children would completly ignore it and ask me to warm up their bean burritos at the butt crack of dawn regardless if it was a moon, sun, or Mama Cass lighting up.
