defying the odds

{James with his coloring page after nursery}

James loves his mommy.
James cries when he gets babysat everytime (minus a few very special people).
James hates church and asks to "GO" the entire time and heads for the door.

Well, James' is 18 months this week, so he was able to go into his nursery class at church for the first time.

I love James.
I feel bad for James' babysitters.
I love church and want James to love it too.
I expected the worst for his first day in nursery. The worst, as in he cries-so-hard-he-stops-breathing.

Well, I took him into his new nursery class. I showed him the toys. I introduced him to his teachers. I played with him for a few minutes.

I left. He cried. No surprise.

I went to do my Primary duties for a few moments and came back to peek in the peep hole of his nursery (yes, they have peepholes in the doors....SO smart!). And guess what? James was PLAYING! As in, he was off to the side with a toy in hand playing. No more crying. No more hating church. No more hating babysitters, I hope.

I was in heaven. He was in heaven.

Way to go, Jamers! You are a big boy now!

I'm with James pre-nursery. Maybe when he gets a little older we can hang during sunday school.
