We've been watching a fair share of the Food Network lately at our house. Preston and I have fallen in love with The Next Food Network Star, Chopped and Iron Chef America. Once the kids are tucked cozily in their beds, Preston and I usually hit each other up for a round of one of the above shows on the couch before retiring. I simply love the entertainment and drama (and anything to do with food, of course). Preston loves all of the culinary vocabulary and techniques shown. When I mentioned to him on Saturday night that I had some London Broil that I wanted to cook on Sunday, but I wasn't sure how to do it, he quickly replied, "Let's sear it, just like Bobby Flay would". So, we searched the Food Network website for some recipes and came up with this and this as our menu.
When Sunday afternoon hit, I was planning on making the cheese scalloped potatoes while Preston dealt with the searing of the beef, but no, he wanted to do the whole meal and do it right. And so he did.It was delicious. Thanks, Babe! I hope you take over in the kitchen more often. Next time I may have to add a secret ingredient or Chop you if you don't step up your game.

I don't comment often - but if you like those shows you should try Top Chef on Bravo. I love cooking shows as well, but Top Chef is the best if you ask me. BTW - The food looks amazing!
Jami Cole
Impressive!! And yes, Jami, Top Chef is the best!
We love Top Chef also! The food looks great! He can come cook for me anytime!
Thanks for letting us partake of that amazing meal! It was DELICIOUS and the PLATING was impressive! Preston did awesome and it was fun to watch him get so focused on the meal! Thanks again!
wow jess. wow.
Has Chopped beaten out the soccer channel, yikes!
I have to agree with everyone else. If you like those shows, you'll love Top Chef, the food is so much more interesting, and the cooks seem so much better than the Food Network contestants.
Thanks for the tip, guys! I will have to check out Top Chef!
Keely---Preston watches soccer alone. We watch food shows together. We have a love for food in common.
wow...things look intense. Why is he still wearing his church clothes? And where is the apron?
Jodi- Lazy and lazy are your answers.
