The remote to our new TV has come up missing. It was last seem in the paw of a one year old as he was crawling all over the floor weeks ago. We haved searched high and low, and I was SURE it would just show up one day in a funny place (couch cushions, kitchen drawers etc.). BUT, I think I know just where it went because today I witnessed that same one year old crawl across the floor with a ball in tow, make his way to the trashcan, wave the ball in front of our automatic trashcan, the lid follows his demand and opens, and in drops the ball. Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? Can you buy just a replacement remote? I hate not being able to control the TV volume or power from the couch. In other words, I'm lazy and my son is a trashman.

Oh no, I hope that's not what happened.
we lost ours 2 years ago and never replaced it. I consider it my exercise for the day.
You can buy replacement remotes and I've experienced that if I have 2 Sony TV's, the remotes are inter-changeable.
You can buy a replacement remote but it would be cheaper to buy and expensive universal one.....trust me!!! I need one of those garbage cans!!!
This story makes me feel better. We lost our Comcast remote and called Comcast and the guy said that he had never heard of anyone losing their remote... It made me feel special:) We ended up finding ours behind the TV in a tricky spot. Good luck on your search!
