Henry earned a prize the other day for reaching a potty training goal, so we ventured to Target to pick one out. This kid fell in love with a "bug shelter", as he refers to it. He now spends his days bug hunting, collecting (which may include torturing), and building a lovely home for bugs. He has added leaves, water, rocks and even a slice of old bread for the bugs to enjoy.
The good news is he loves this bug business.
The bad news is I have yet to see a bug live through the process.

so cute! but yes, he wiped out about 30 roly poly here.
Maybe he could be an exterminator? That way he gets to see the bugs and kill the in the process.
jessie be very careful with this habitat. We had the exact same one full of 100 ladybugs (we bought them at home depot) and most of them got out. They sneak out the bottom part somehow so keep it outside if you can. Good luck.
I forgot to add that we have snakes in our backyard if he wants to come catch some. ha ha.
