You always know when my parents have come and gone because it usually means that I'm depressed (not clinically though) by their leaving.
It means we've eaten out most meals...It means the kids have laughed a ton, played a ton, and have a ton of new clothes...It means my mom cooked my favorite meal for Sunday dinner. Chicken and Noodles with Mashed Potatoes. I can't make mashed potatoes like her (think whipped and lots of butter)! I finished off the serving bowl by large spoonfuls. They were that good...It means that mom not only does the cooking, but also the cleaning up. She's just that kind of lady. I think I inherited much of her cook, eat, clean, and get 'er done right away attitude. This time it also meant that I've began to notice that my parents are aging. After feeding James some baby Cheetos for a snack one night, I picked him up out of his highchair and said, "You have Cheeto breath", to which my mom looks at me strangely and asks, "His teeth are rusting?". Then my dad pipes in, "No, Susie. His feet are wet."
It mostly means I miss them terribly and hope they come back soon.
