My 30th birthday came and went, but I feel like the celebration just ended. Preston really surprised me this year. Not only did he get me some amazing gifts..., but he also took 2 days off of work to spend some time with the kids and I. The festivities included going to Cafe Rio with friends, where Preston insisted upon sitting at a table with 6 kids, so that the mommies could all sit together and chat. After lunch we headed up to Millcreek Canyon to see the fall leaves, let the kids play, and try out our new flash and lens. It was beautiful up there! That night Pam watched our kids so that we could go to the Real Soccer game (the first one at their new stadium) alone. I think it's the first time I actually watched a full game (minus my 2 attempts to get hot chocolate...they ran out by half time). So even though I wasn't thrilled at first to spend the night of my 30th birthday watching soccer, freezing to death, with only Pepsi as an option to quench my thirst, I think Preston pulled through and made the big day an amazing one!

As if the first full day of fun wasn't enough, Preston stayed home again from work on Friday, and we went up to Heber to have a delicious seafood buffet with our friends, the Posts. If you are ever in the Midway area, I highly recommend Schnietters. All of the fish selections were tasty, but the best was the chocolate fountain with strawberries, pineapple and marshmellows.

On Saturday my mom treated me to a spa day (thanks, mom!) and Preston watched the kids that night so that some friends and I could go to Happy Sumo and to a movie (2 thumbs up).

After 3 days of celebrating, I think I'm ready for a pretty darn good 30th year of life (and a diet)!

I want my 30th back, that sounds awesome! So Im in tears at looking at my little red head James in my big red head Jude's sweater he wore for X-mas pics last year. AND, I recall a couple b-days ago when I was in Chi town with you and Im thinking P-dog didn't even mention your birthday during your phone call, SO wow if he keeps stepping it up, what is your 40th going to bring? Can't wait to see more pics with the new lens.
