the run(s)

I'm done training for my half marathon!!! Now we'll have to see if it all pays off this weekend. I did run 12 miles during training, so I think 13.1 may be within reach. I'm headed to Chicago today to meet up with "Team Lund" and prepare for the big race! I'm excited. I'm scared. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. My goal is to just finish. That finish could mean running across the finish line, crawling across the finish line, or even riding a trolley across the finish line. Yes, there is a trolley that picks up all of the stragglers. Here's why I'm at risk: I run a 12 minute mile (many can walk this, I know). The trolley drives at a 13 minute mile pace and picks up all who are in it's way. What if I get "the runs" (you do get those from running, ya know) and have to stop at the port-o-potty line? That's going to take more than a minute! I could be snatched up by the trolley. Or, I could just keep running despite my need to "go" and finish in this fashion...It's all about finishing what I started, no matter what the cost.

That is so disgusting! Unless I was going to win, there is no way that I could ever do that. It doesn't take that long to go to the bathroom (as long as the line isn't too long!). But I will admit that I did pee my pants during one race and that was only because there was a serious Port-O-Potty shortage on the course. You are going to do great, so don't stress about it! Good luck!!

Jessie....
congrats on the running. I have just spent ALL my free time (total of 2hrs) reading all your blog entries and I don't think I've laughed this hard since I saw Pam's x-mas cards. Your kids are sooooo cute! Thanks for helping out my lonely Friday night while my husband goes deer hunting. Do you guys want some deer meat? I am going to make my kids put it in the wagon and go door to door because its not allowed at my house.

I kind of always feel like I'm going to crap my pants when I run, thats why I stopped and started speed walking, but my sis in law says if you take an immodium before you start, you usually are just fine.
