I have a preschooler...can you believe it? Henry started going to preschool this past week, and so far he loves it!It's only 2 days a week for 2 hours, but it gives me a chance to run my errands with just one child to occupy the cart.
When I picked him up the first day his teacher said that he was so cute, she could eat him up. I hope he stays edible all year long for her.
I already know he's learning something there because that first night he suddenly began singing (out of tune, of course...he is MY child), "If you happy..........clap your hands......hooray". It was pretty much mumbo jumbo, but I could tell what song it was. I'm excited to see all the new stuff he comes home with, but I'm not excited about the tacky kid creations...What in the world do you do with all of this junk that your child considers a masterpiece?

wait until he finds his tacky kid creations in the trash, this is sure to upset him.
hahaha... I was JUST thinking about this as I was tossing away a load of papers. I might be about the most unsentimental mother known to mankind.
We have a bulletin board in Sydney's room. My plan is to rotate the display and get rid of the ones that leave the board. We'll see how that flies. I doubt very well.
I've heard that you should save a few things from each year in a file, but don't try to save everything. I know I love looking at all my old schoolwork!!
I love that pic of him walking into school with his bag. Priceless!
I'm with the teacher -- I could eat him up too.
Oh, and I scan in all her projects...get rid of the ummm...tacky ones -- keep the cute ones in a portfolio (you can get cheap ones at the store.) That way -- she can look back at her art when she is older -- on the computer. lol
Get a bin that he keeps each year. I use one of Aysha's dresser drawer's. At the end of the year you go through all of it and let them pick a few for a folder (or scan). You will be surprised how much less of a masterpiece they think it is when everything is laid out. It is good because you don't get busted for having it in the garbage (KEELY!) and it becomes a ritual to usher them into the next grade.
He looks so darn cute! I think you should keep some but not all. It will be nice for Henry to look back and see what he has done. I have some stuff from elementary school and it's neat to look at them again.
jessie your blog is always so fun to read. Thanks for all the laughs! We have got a starfish hanging up on our front door with spongy paint on it. It looks fabulous! :) I will take it anyday over the school bus head band. :) Knowing Isaac it would be his new hat to wear everywhere.
How exciting for both of you!! Henry really is so cute that I could eat hime up too. Glad it's going well!
