We checked another stadium off our long list of stadiums yet to visit in this lifetime. On Saturday we went to see the Rockies play the D-Backs at Coors Field. After parking our car we were walking to the stadium when Henry asks, "Where's my baseball hat, mom?". Hmmmm...what baseball hat? Henry doesn't have a baseball hat and has never really worn a hat before. He won't keep them on his head....ever. Preston and I had just discussed in the car that we didn't want to buy any Rockies apparel because we didn't want our son sporting purple (sorry Wildcat fans). Now here we were nearing a stadium packed with purple gear and our son was wanting his first baseball cap. A small sporting good shop outside the park caught my eye, so we ventured in to find him this beauty that made his dad happy...He wore it with pride all night, despite the fact that he was cheering for the wrong team. James enjoyed shaking his baseball maraca to the beat of the cheering fans...The stadium was beautiful...newish, clean, served Coke (all we can find in this small town is Pepsi), had a kid's play area and a huge waterfall began to flow when the Rockies hit a homerun. The Rockies lost in the 9th inning, but it was another nice family night at the ballpark. And, Henry is still wearing around his hat.
Go Cubs!

it looks a little empty. but i love this tradition you guys have!
What's wrong with a boy wearing purple?
nothing's wrong when you've grown up with it being a neutral color. around here it's a girl color.
Henry looks so grown up in a baseball hat!
that's so cute......and i'm with you two, no purple for my boys either.....we are doing the same thing checking stadiums off our list.....
