staycation

When Keely and family came to visit, Preston coined the phrase "staycation". He said, "It's staying home, but doing everything you would do if you were on vacation". I think he got that one just right. Our week was filled with every kiddie activity imaginable, eating out every meal, and hitting most of the big tourist spots. Our itinerary was jam packed from morning until night. Keely said she had to get everything in we did last year when they were here and then some.

Here's some pics of just a few of the highlights...

Bouncing at Kangaroo Zoo...
Cherry HIll Water Park. We got asked if these two Reds were twins, despite their 11 month age difference...Diggin' for dinosaur bones at the Dinosaur Park...Swimming, swimming and more swimming (we swam more this week than I have in the past 10 years combined)...Tin foil dinners and smores up the canyon...It was a fun week. We sure wish the Says lived much closer, preferably next door. Now we need a week of sleep and home-cooked meals to recover, but knowing me, that won't be happening.

What cute little families you two have! Seriously, James and Jude could be twins - I love the red hair!!

I hate to burst Preston's bubble, but the word "staycation" has been a buzz word for a while. With gas prices the way they are, I think a lot of people are staying close to home for vacation!! It is a very clever word, however.
