My Independence Day To-Do List

1. Perform my annual duty of vigorously singing "I'm Proud to be an American" while standing on top of a couch with one hand on my heart and the other high up in the air (with just as much gusto and almost as much talent as Reggie does).
2. Dress my children in matching USA polos.
3. Eat the true all-American meal: In and Out Burger.
4. Attend "Kung Fu Panda" with the patriotically clad children to beat the heat while my hubby works.
5. Watch some fireworks from a blanket, cozied up with the family.
6. Reminisce about Mr. Pond and I's first kiss from the 4th of July of '95. Maybe even reenact it.
7. Ponder how truly proud I am to be an American.
8. Hope that next year we can celebrate in our neck of the woods with friends, family and some Wave your Flag Cake. It just won't be the same without it.

Happy 4th of July!
