You know how most people show up to a hotel and just live out of their suitcases and leave the furniture set-up "as is"? Not me. I show up and begin trying to figure out how to make it more cozy, more practical, and more fitting to appease my obsessive compulsive disorder.
I'm anal at home and anal on the road. I unpack all of my clothes into the drawers (it's more tidy that way) and line up all of my toiletry items on the bathroom counter (it's more convenient that way).I'm inventive. I use closets for pack 'n play caves and drapes as a noise reducer...Henry still asks, "Where's Baby James?" as he is snoozing away in his little hideout. Mission accomplished.
I'm also manipulative. I bribed Henry to get his head shaved the other day by promising him a new train. He hates the feeling of hair in his shirt. He did such a good job that I got him his own little Thomas the Train playset for the road. I must admit that these places with fire engines for chairs and movies for entertainment during the chop really help with the haircutting fears. Doesn't he look clean cut?
Let's just call me consistent in my overpowering character traits.
And can I add that I LOVE hotel window coverings? I'm sure they are covered in filth, but they keep the light out amazingly well! We have been sleeping in until almost 9:00am everyday and have no idea that it's even daytime outside! I need some of these at home!

Hilarious. I have many of the same tendencies, but you take things to a whole new level. Love it!

Henry looks so good with the new cut! I must admit you are impressive! I do most of the stuff you just mentioned when I stay at a hotel...but I still can't wait to get out of there, especially with B. It's just so tricky with kiddos. You are a good woman!!
