Preston and I celebrated 8 years of marriage over the weekend. It was good times. I enlisted the best babysitter in the world, Preston's sister Janelle (and her hubby Dean), to spend a few hours with the kiddos. It was our first time leaving James for any extended period of time. He's a super nurser and has never had a bottle, so that gives us about 3 hours away. I knew if anyone could handle a hungry baby, Janelle could (at least she better be able to, she's having her own little one in just over a week).
So here's how the evening played out...
6:00pm: I feed James.
6:15pm: Preston and I depart, kid free.
6:45pm: We arrive at the temple to do some sealings. Nothin' better than doing what we did 8 years ago.
7:25pm: A temple worker says to Preston, "Oh by the way, you look just like Brett Favre".
8:30pm: Depart the temple, a little later than planned, but happy to have been there.
9:00 pm: Dessert at Bistro 258. A little Chocolate Souffle (much like brownie batter) for her. Yum. Caramel Lime Cheesecake for him. Yum. Talk, talk, talk, talk in peace. Love is in the air.
10:00pm: Back home. Kids are in bed. No hungry baby. Happy Babysitter. Happy us.
Do you think?
Brett...

he does look like favre! I've never noticed that before, but so so true!
I don't get the sealings bit. You guys were marrying people in the temple? Did you know these people? People let random strangers perform their wedding ceremony? I'm confused.
Glad you had a fun night....you deserve it!!
I love your dress! Is it new? And yes, he does look like that guy!
Yay Jessie! It sounds like you guys had the perfect night! Sealings are an awesome way to remind yourself of the "eternal" promises you made! :) AND...dessert at a fancy place without kiddos...priceless! Isn't it great to have those moments with the hubby? I think I'm going to go tell Kel we need a date! :)
BTW, love that dress you were in!
Yes, Katie. We were proxies for people who have died. They were some of my ancestors I had been researching. So yes and no...I know who they were, but I don't really know them. The article I linked to might explain it a little better than I can.
Allie- the dress is newish. I've had it for awhile, but just barely got the urge to wear it. It's from Downeast.
