We be jammin'!

I saw a killer deal on a flat of strawberries at the grocery store over the weekend, so I snatched them up to make strawberry freezer jam. I love that stuff! And, it's almost therapeutic just making it...fresh ingredients, chopping strawberries, the hum of the blender, the mixing, the ladling into cute little jars, slipping a taste now and then, and just seeing the final product completed.

The goods...My little helper (much better at it this year than last)...My other helper that refused to be laid down (he's becoming addicted to this sling)...After a big mess of crushed berries and sugar, we ended up with 20 beauties that will be filling up our tummies for the months to come...pb&j anyone?

They look yummy! I'm still waiting for sweet strawberries to come here in L.A. They look nice and red, but not so sweet at all... Can't wait to make mine. They always taste better when it's homemade;)

I've never made freezer jam in jars...they look so much cuter in those jars than in gladware! :) YUM!

For those of you that have never made this stuff...it's SO easy! In all honesty, a 5 year old could do it, and that's why I agree to make it. All you do is crush berries, add sugar, add pectin, let sit, and then ladle into jars or plastic containers, and FREEZE. That is it!
