tiptoe through the tulips
We met our good friends at Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival today. It was just the right temperature and the kids loved chasing eachother around and sharing Goldfish, but the tulips were a slight disappointment. Most of them were just buds and not in full bloom. No big deal, right? Well, for the most part. My big complaint was that I paid $10 to look at tulips and mostly saw premature ones. It's like going to visit the new baby animal at the zoo, and it's just a pregnant elephant. I know I sound like a downer, but I heard that last year it was amazingly beautiful. I just feel slightly jipped. $10 to walk through a garden?
We did walk up to the Children's Gardens and found a small area of big bloomers. That did make me a bit happier about my big fee. Henry and Lilly loved the tulips so much that they began stomping through them (not tiptoeing). They seemed more interested in the giant rocks to climb and the water to play in than the beauty of the flowers (surprise suprise!). It was still great to get out of the house and enjoy the SPRING weather for the day...and be with the Bostons, of course! And in other good news James is FINALLY over his 3 1/2 week cold AND slept for a straight NINE hours last night! Things are looking up!

my 1 yr old doesn't even sleep 9hrs, actually Im not sure my 6 yr old doesn't wake up either, WOW, im jealous.
I too spent gosh I don't even know. $12? $15? I think it was $15 on a botanical garden. Come on people. It's pretty but $15? That's movie, popcorn, coke and candy.
My mother-in-law went a few weeks ago and said the same thing. They shouldn't open it until there are actually some tulips to look at, or at least not charge so much.
Next time, just go to temple square.
ok I toally need to go there!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
when will those tulips bloom, i mean, we haven't really even had spring...maybe they're confused.
