My pregnancy is about to expire!

Is anyone else out there obsessed with expiration dates? My mom instilled this fear of expiration dates into me. There's no keeping anything beyond it's expiration date....when the exact day hits the product hits the trashcan. Even to this day when I go grocery shopping with her she'll say, "What's the expiration date?". This obsession has been carved into me. Every week when I clean out my fridge before grocery shopping I look over all of the dates....ketchup, lemon juice, cheese, milk...you name it, I check it.

Well, now this has applied to my pregnancy. You know a date is far off when it's the same as the date on your Easy Mac....that stuff lasts forever (I'm sure it has something to do with it's chemical composition). So when I bought some a year ago and it said that it expired in February '08 that seemed ages away. Not anymore. It's about time to throw out the Easy Mac and the baby in my belly. You know the baby is about fully cooked when yogurt expires after it does....and then it's really close when the milk in my fridge will still be there when I come home from the hospital with the new bundle of joy. I will be drinking THAT same milk when I have TWO KIDS!!!!

I know, it's kind of stupid to think in expiration dates and base your life's milestones around it, but it's a great way of keeping track of time. You know there's no more time to procrastinate finishing the baby's quilt or painting the baby's room when chips in your pantry are "due" the same day you are.

I don't know if this baby will be like my mother's mustard and be forced out of it's friendly confines the day it is set to expire, but after hearing that it's head is measuring 37 weeks today (and I'm only 34 weeks preggo) I hope it doesn't stay snug in there too much beyond it's due date.
