He's not ready to give up the spotlight just yet!

Henry wasn't allowing me a solo 37 1/2 week belly shot. He wanted to say "cheese" and feed the baby a little lens cap. He's tried stuffing a pacifier into my belly button or feeding it snacks quite a few times over the past few months. He calls my big ole' bump "James" daily, but I'm sure he has no idea what is really in there and how much it is about to change his world. It hit me today that we really do have limited days left for just the two of us. So, this afternoon we tried to cram in a bunch of Henry-adored activities....playing Playdoh, hitting a ball with his bat, playing catch, rolling the giant yoga ball at eachother, watching "Curious George" together on the couch, reading every book in his collection, chasing one another, playing "tickle monster" and eating sugar, of course! It makes me sad to think my first born is going to be pushed aside to make room for another, but then I think of what a great big brother he will make and how happy it will make me to see the 2 of them together. I just hope he greets the new one with open arms and doesn't feel too replaced...I'm sure that's wishful thinking on my part!

I had an appointment today with another midwife at the practice. The baby was measuring 8 pounds, 3 ounces....that's bigger than Henry was at birth!!! She also showed me the over-an-inch-long hair and super long femur! Lots of people have commented that it "must be a boy" considering it's size, but I entered the world at over 8 pounds so it's still a big mystery to me.

The bags are packed. Now we're just waiting....

it's a girl. I'm a little distressed - as the youngest - did we ever get our individual time??

tell me you blurred out the stretch marks in photoshop! The last day with Henry really brought me back. I cried all the time about the whole abandoning the first thing, and definitely gave him more attention towards the end in anticipation of a few weeks of near-abandonment. He'll do fine though, they're so adaptable.
