the bad, the worse, and the horrific!

the bad: henry can now climb out of his crib.

the worse: henry now likes to wake up at 6:00am.

the horrific: henry fights naps, so i get nothing done around here.

here's a little bit of history....i've had a great sleeper for well over a year now. he goes to bed without complaint at 9:00pm and wakes up talking between 8:00am and 9:00am. then around 2:00pm we read some books and he goes back to bed without complaint until 4:00pm or so. never any tears, never any fights. i guess i was lucky, real lucky, because times seem to be a changin'. i'm so happy that he picked to stop his perfect sleep schedule just in time for me to be 8 months pregnant, exhausted, and overwhelmed with a rambunctious 2 year old that frequents time out and tests my patience.

my sanity is slipping.....

I am a friend of Kristin H's - saw a link to your blog from hers. I feel for you - we had an awesome sleeper from 10wks until about 20 months. He started climbing over the gate & fighting bedtime when our new baby was 4 wks old....hope you find a solution quicker than we did. We were in survival mode for a good 4-5 months & finally have 2 kids that sleep through the night most of the time :)

I feel for you. I hated when Ben stopped napping. Ben stopped before I was pregnant with Seth so I never got many breaks during pregnancy and after. You just learn to adjust and it starts to feel like breaks again when you get your baby down napping and only have to deal with one child. I am lucky that Ben has always slept in until at least 8:00 - usually 9:00.

That's terrible!! I am dreading the day that Lily figures out how to get out of the crib. About a month before Owen was born, Lily started to act differently. I think she knew that changes were coming. She started waking up a lot during the night. Luckily, it didn't last for too long. You'd better get used to the no nap thing because it's so tough to get both kids to sleep at the exact same time anyway. Good luck though!

I feel for you too! MAN no naps that SUCKS! Anika is giving up naps now but then she gets sleepy and wants a nap at 5!! hate that! Also with the going to bed at night it is 10pm now and she is still WIDE AWAKE! All I have to say is good luck with the sleeping thing. Maybe he is preparing you for next month with the baby is here!! :)

Is his room baby-proof? I'd get a video monitor ( only $100 or so at Target) and put him in his room at 2 anyway. If he climbs out and plays, oh well. At least you get a break. Syd is an awful sleeper and always has been. She and Brenna RARELY nap at the same time. I get nothing done around here either.
